We bring you last week's top performances from Ivorians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is an international point guard
Jean-Francois Kebe (185-94, currently plays in France). He could not help
Saint-Quentin (11-8) in their last game. Despite Kebe's good performance the third-placed Saint-Quentin (11-8) was crushed
87-62 at home by the lower-ranked (#8) SO Maritime Boulogne in the Places 1-10 group.
He was the second best scorer with 12 points. Kebe also added 7 rebounds in 23 minutes on the court.
It was Saint-Quentin's third consecutive loss in a row.
This year Kebe averages: 6.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.9apg, 2FGP: 56.4%(53-94), 3FGP: 22.7% and FT: 70.6% in 39 games he played so far.
He is currently a member of the Ivorian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international point guard
Souleyman Diabate (181-87, currently plays in France). Diabate was not able to help
Sluc Nancy in their game against ADA Blois (19-15) in the French ProB (second division).
He recorded 8 points, 9 assists and 5 steals.
Sluc Nancy was edged
70-67 on the road by the lower-ranked ADA Blois (#8).
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Diabate's first season with the team.
Diabate has relatively good stats this year: 10.8ppg, 2.2rpg, 7.5apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 45.8%, 3FGP: 25.6% and FT: 81.1%.
He is in the roster of the Ivorian senior national team.
#3. The Ivorian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center
Aboubacar Aboubacar Hima (207-94, currently plays in Spain). Aboubacar Hima was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams
Carramimbre (20-14) in their game against Melilla Baloncesto (21-13) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division).
He scored 7 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 23 minutes.
Carramimbre lost
71-77 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#5) Melilla_Baloncesto.
This year Aboubacar Hima's overall stats are: 4.6ppg, 5.4rpg, 2FGP: 46.4% and FT: 58.8% in 39 games.
He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and Nigerien.
Aboubacar Hima played for the Ivorian national team two years ago.
#4. Swingman
Charles Abouo (196-89, college:
BYU, currently plays in France) faced previously mentioned Souleyman Diabate in the French ProB last game.
Abouo led
ADA Blois to a 3-point victory against the closely-ranked Sluc Nancy (22-12)
70-67.
He recorded 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This season Abouo has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.7apg and 1.2spg.
He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and American.
Abouo is also Ivorian national team player.
#5. International swingman
Vafessa Fofana (198-92, currently plays in France) contributed to a 1-point
Nantes' victory against the 15th-ranked Denain Voltaire (12-22)
65-64 in the French ProB (second division) last Friday.
He recorded 8 points in 17 minutes.
Hermine Nantes Atlantique (18-16) is placed ninth in the ProB.
The Regular Season already ended.
This year Fofana's total stats are: 9.8ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.2spg in 32 games.
He plays currently for the Ivorian national team.
#6. Forward
Moussa Kone (203-93, college:
Hofstra, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help
Palencia Baloncesto (19-15) in their game against RETAbet BB (24-10) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division).
Kone scored 6 points.
Palencia Baloncesto was badly defeated
79-61 in Bilbao by the second-ranked RETAbet BB.
Kone has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 4.5rpg.
He has both American and Ivorian nationalities.
Kone is a former international player as he played for the Ivorian senior team four years ago.
#7. An experienced international center
Mohamed Kone (211-81, college:
Valpo, currently plays in France) managed to help Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole in a victory against the closely-ranked SPO Rouen (24-10)
77-72 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game.
He recorded only 3 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks in 32 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole (24-10) is placed third in the ProB.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
Kone has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 8.4rpg and 1.1apg in 34 games.
He is also Ivorian national team player.
#8. Point guard
Bryan Pamba-Juille (184-92, currently plays in France) couldn't help
Caen (8-26) in their game against Chorale de Roanne (26-8) in the French ProB (second division).
Pamba-Juille recorded 6 points.
Caen was crushed
95-51 on their home court in Caen by the leading Chorale de Roanne.
It was Caen's sixth consecutive loss in a row.
The Regular Season already ended.
Pamba-Juille has averaged so far 7.4ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.0apg.
Despite he played previously for the French U20 national team, Pamba-Juille is currently in the Ivorian national team roster.
